He is supposed to get into your subconscious_ P for Performance

P for Performance is pleased to announce a third performative event: He is supposed to get into your subconscious: an online, loud reading of Jacqueline Forzelius ‘morning pages’-writing, finishing off with a little song.

Jacqueline Forzelius is an artist based in Sweden. She has opened an agency; it is trying its best to provide a service. We know it has something to do with communication – information is imparted earnestly, the efficiency of work endorsed (if not demonstrated). Just as we begin to lose the faith in this service, we realize we have somehow become participants. So, we are left to wonder, what hidden persuader is operating behind the scenes?

Jacqueline Forzelius’s recent activities amongst others, include 2009 Pop Up Art, an art fair for young artists, Stockholm, SWE; My Travels With Barry, graduation show of The Piet Zwart Institute, TENT, Rotterdam NL, 2008; The Community Gives Me Validity and The Community Gives Me False Items, Vancouver, CA; Video/installation Something that matters, in Kingdome Come, Redefine the Enemy in TENT, Rotterdam NL; A Performance with Gerwin Luijendijk; Don’t Touch My Roof, Schouwburg, Rotterdam. All or Nothing, CCA, Glasgow. For more check out http://www.forzajax.tk/

P for Performance is part of an ongoing project by Maja Bekan, entitled Secret Powers for Identity, Security and Self-respect in Troubling Times. The aim of these performance events is to try to critically engage with the investigation of the artist’s role as a producer and advertiser.
